The fact that innovation will give [us] equivalent [food] without those negative effects at lower prices is an amazing example of how linear projection misses what innovators using science will be able to do. It’s completely not part of the mainstream dialogue. Five years from now, as these products get out there, the whole view of what agriculture needs to do … will be a lot more positive.

Meet Eric, Farm Sanctuary’s newest rescued piglet. My heart is simultaneously warmed & broken every time I see this photo. Eric’s story gives me hope & conviction. We must live with compassion for all living beings.
***Until December 16th, Farm Sanctuary will match your Year-End Gift dollar for dollar. Please give, even if it’s just a little, so more precious animals like Eric can be saved.

I’m about two seconds away from adopting a pet pig. My roommates will be psyched! But seriously, if the effect meat has on your insides doesn’t make you think twice about consuming piglets, read this story, and maybe compassion will.

I’ve always had a soft spot for animals—I adopted a whale in college, his name is Bernie…I get pictures every Xmas—but this whole vegan thing has taken it to a new level (not just in terms of abstaining from eating meat). Really sad to see that animals in shelters will get euthanized because of kennel cough, which most get right away in shelter, even though it’s treatable for a low price. Ever sadder that an employee who was simply taking pictures to show the animals in a better light was fired for it. Can’t support that.
